Alte Brucke of Heidelberg, Germany

Saturday the 20th Brenda had a hair appointment at Ramstein AFB for 1000.  In order to make that without the extra effort it would take to get up early we headed back down to home on Friday. Then came back up to Heidelberg after the hair appointment, from which she emerged looking beautiful.  The little Pontiac G6 uses a least a third less gas at 70 than it does at 90.  Although it is true there is no speed limit on the Autobahn there is posted "recommended" speeds to enhance the flow of traffic.  The people here are especially good about leaving the passing lane open for just that.  Otherwise, get run over.  Even at 70-80 people fly by me like I'm hardly moving.

For the most part the German's drive drab cars.  I may have mentioned that before but I'll say it again. At least 80% drive black, gray/silver or dark blue autos.  Some are white and red and bright blue, but few.  In on picture I'll post in a bit you can pick our car out easily in the parked line up. Brenda and I have been finding ourselves speaking GPS talk.  It says things like "In one kilometer take the exit right and bear left." Then when we get there it says "Now take the exit right, bear left then bear right onto A62"  Now when we're out without the GPS set up and manually helping the other navigate, you can imagine how we sound although I do struggle a bit with the husky middle-aged woman voice that comes from the Navigon.

In my previous posting I showed some pictures of the old bridge.  Brenda and I went back there together sunday.  Here's a link that tells about it. http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alte_Br%C3%BCcke_(Heidelberg)
Some more shots:
I was trying to get the writing on it, but the day was gloomly and rainy, thus not enough contrast.

We got there at the same time as a group of Japanese tourists.

The church tower in the back ground from the Old Bridge was ringing bells.  Sounded nice.

You can see the Heidelberg castle behine Brenda.
We make it up there a little later.

Brenda took this shot of the knight.  She especially liked the expression of the face on the shield.  That's the way I looked the other day after braving hot wings from Anthony's Pizza.

There is the castle behind me.

No idea what that is suppose to be.
Here's another-

View of the Rhine River from the Old Bridge.
